Systems Change
— The unequal access to opportunities that enable people to choose the life they want.
Issues such as child poverty, social isolation, and unequal access to education create disparities that hinder individuals’ potential. Economic activity contributes to these inequalities—but it can also be part of the solution. SIIF has identified “social inclusion” as a priority area, supporting innovations that reduce visible disparities while promoting human-capital investment in businesses and collaboration with government decision-making processes.

Opportunity gaps arise from many sources—including caregiving burdens, gender disparities, nationality, and intergenerational poverty. Economic systems can both perpetuate and resolve these inequalities. We seek approaches that foster broad social inclusion and empowerment, supporting innovations that alleviate disparities while advancing human-capital investment and public-sector collaboration.

Using our Opportunity Gap Issue Map, we created a Vision Paper outlining our Theory of Change and related initiatives.
