After retiring from the Bank of Japan, I worked for a private company before becoming the Executive Director of the Foundation. As the director in charge of general affairs, I will create a bright and healthy organization where everyone can work with peace of mind, so that the diverse human resources gathered at the Foundation can do their best to solve social issues.

I joined the Nippon Foundation in 1991. I worked on civic themes such as reconstruction support activities after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, solving mobility difficulties for the disabled, and strengthening NPO support centers. Later, I was in charge of the planning department, organizational development and human resources. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, I was appointed as the leader of a task force set up within the foundation, and was involved in a number of support projects in collaboration with social entrepreneurs and the government. In 2017, I founded SIIF. I hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration. I am a lecturer at Globis University Graduate School of Management and a board member of Benesse Children’s Fund.

After working for a major Japanese general trading company, I was seconded to the Japan Center for Economic Research, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the World Bank before being appointed Director of International Affairs at the Nippon Foundation in 2001. In 2014, at the request of the Japanese government, I was appointed as the G8 Task Force for Impact Investment Japan Private Sector Representative and a member of the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG) Japan National Advisory Board. After becoming President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in 2016, I established the 10-billion-yen Asian Women’s Impact Fund at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and became the new Chair of Executive Committee of SIIF in June 2020.
